A crowd of some 950, including 400 Pars supporters, saw the first division side dominate throughout in what was Dumbarton's first competitive match of the new season.

Jim McIntyre's Fifers, who are targetting promotion to the premier league at the end of this season, certainly looked the part and were quicker in thought and deed throughout than their part-time opponents.

David Graham opened the scoring early for the Pars, with Andy Kirk finding the net twice and Alex Burke and Steven Bell also scoring. The third goal, seconds before the half-time whistle, killed the match as a contest.

The closest Sons came to a goal was when Derek Carcary broke through the middle late in the second half, but shot wide.
