SORRY SONS LOSE AGAIN
19-Sep-2009
Derek Carcary battles with Joe Mbu.
Scott McBride opened the scoring for the visitors — captained by ex-Son Craig Winter — in 15 minutes, and ten minutes later Gareth Wardlaw made it two.
Sons did create some chances, with Derek Carcary and Roddy Hunter getting into good positions but failing to find the net.
In the second half the pattern was much the same, and after McBride netted his second in the 53rd minute the home crowd were silenced and the atmosphere went out of the game.
Sub striker Denis McLaughlin had a couple of good chances in the final minutes, and new signing Adam Strachan impressed with his pace and trickery on the right wing.
With Clyde winning it meant that Sons returned to the foot of the division, still with only two points.
