Scotland's no.9 breaks forward.
Two goals from Emma Fernon and Kim Little sealed the win for Scotland in front of a crowd of 567.

The first half was a quiet affair with not much in the way of goal-scoring opportunities. It was clear that Northern Ireland had come to frustrate Scotland as they packed the midfield and stifled the creativity of Suzanne Grant, who was winning her 76th cap, down the right channel.

The breakthrough finally came on 66 minutes when the ball fell to Fernon on the edge of the box after a scramble in the penalty box and she caught the ball sweetly on the half volley and released a dipping strike that flew past the keeper and into the top right hand corner.

Northern Ireland looked happy to settle for a narrow defeat as they just could not create anything in the Scotland half and their hosts saw the game out and doubled their advantage in injury time to put a fine gloss on the score-line.

Leanne Ross drove into the penalty box. Her ball into the middle was handled by Hutton and Kim Little fired the resulting penalty into the bottom right hand corner to put the result beyond all doubt.
