DUMBARTON made it through to the fourth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup with an ultimately comfortable 3-1 home win over Forfar Athletic.

DUMBARTON made it through to the fourth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup with an ultimately comfortable 3-1 win over Forfar Athletic in front of a 424 crowd at the C & G Systems Stadium.
Sons made a bright start through Adam Frizzell on nine minutes, but were pegged back by an equaliser from Callum Tapping on 20.
The game then meandered along with chances at a premium before Dumbarton broke clear in the final 20 minutes.
Ryan McGeever restored the lead on 72 minutes and six minutes later Isaac Layne (pictured) sealed the win.
